I hope Craet can forgive me for this… Loziras had slipped out of the city over an hour ago.  He had only just cleared the surrounding township and was now in the rolling hills that surrounded the city.  The corsair had told them everything, and then some.  God it’s my fault that she got captured, thought Loziras.  He had resolved to rescue Môràh after hearing the corsair’s tale in full.

He had taken her cloak from their gear and used it to sneak unobserved through the tall grass toward the outlying hamlet.  He froze when he heard the guttural, brutish language that was all too familiar now.  Orcs!  The corsair was telling the truth. He let the patrol pass, and then flashed across the path into the field that ended a few meters from the makeshift jailhouse. Continue reading

No More Fallen Heroes Part III


Môràh woke up to blackness.  She remembered the execution, the planning session.  She was walking back from the armory to join up with Loziras and Credance for the patrol.  And then nothing.

As he struggled to stand she came against resistance.  She was bonded, both her ankles and wrists tied.  Great, just great. The darkness was broken as a crack appeared in the wall across from her.  The door opened and she was forced to squint as the light hit her.  The figure standing in the door way left her speechless. “I swear these woods must be endless,” complained the Magistar.  The woods extended out in all directions, blocking out a view of the sun.

“We heard you the first time,” replied Crüxt.  For the last day they had been following the course pointed to by the arrow that maintained its position in the air before the Magistar.  Their travels were slower than those of Craet and company before them since they had to check for signs of the other party passing earlier.
